This weekly course will allow participants to learn welding techniques and work with metal. Projects can be for practical use or conceptual sculptures. Participants can create their own design project or discuss proposals with the instructor.

- Develop a personal metal project
Experience: All levels are welcome. The course dynamics allow for adaptation to the needs and timeframe of each student. Experienced participants can continue with their projects and incorporate new procedures.
What you'll do: On the first day, you'll receive an introduction to safe workshop practice and an introduction to welding techniques. We'll create group sculptures to practice different welding scenarios. In the following three sessions, you'll have the opportunity to create a personal project, guided by Silvina's guidance. If you don't have a project yet, you can discuss it at the end of the first day. You'll see, the ideas will come!
You'll learn: In this course, you'll receive an introduction to safe practice and tool use in a workshop setting. You'll learn how to work with metal (mild steel), gaining the skills and confidence to complete your own projects in the future. Metal preparation and finishing techniques. Introduction to MIG and arc welding. Different positions and types of joints. Use of angle, bending, bending, cutting, and punching.
What to bring:
Work clothing: cotton clothing or, ideally, flame-resistant clothing. Full body coverage. Sturdy footwear (ideally with a metal toe cap, but not required). Hair tied back. Notepad/sketchbook and pencil.
